COATES IS THE LATEST RECRUIT TO JOIN NORTH WALES CRUSADERS

North Wales Crusaders are delighted to announce the signing of Dan Coates from the Midlands Hurricanes.

The 24 year old half back is no stranger to semi professional rugby league as he has previously has had stints with Coventry Bears, Newcastle Thunder; London Broncos and Cumbrian outfit Whitehaven where he was on loan.

Since 2019; Coates has collectively appeared 38 times for his clubs; scoring 8 tries, kicking 64 goals and scoring 2 field goals; bringing his semi professional career points total to 162.

In 2019 Coates achieved the highest points scored in a season for the then Coventry Bears by bagging a total of 147 points (8 tries, 47 goals and 1 field goal) in 17 appearances, a record that still remains today.

Dan Coates commented " When the message came from Darren (Morson) I jumped at the chance to join North Wales Crusaders.

Given what the team done last year this is a great opportunity for myself to be involved in a team that is on the up.

I’m looking forward to getting back fit and hopefully helping the team to reach another level.

I’m looking forward to working with Carl, from playing against him I know he likes to move the ball and has a good rugby brain.

I can’t wait to pull on the shirt infront of the Cru Supporters as from past experience I know the fans are loud and proud and I can’t wait to be on the right side of the support instead of against it.

Bring on 2024!

North Wales Crusaders head coach Carl Forster said "Real good to get Dan on board.

He knows this division well and gives us some much needed depth in the halfbacks.

He's got a real good running game and I'm looking forward to seeing him play with freedom and taking us around the field".
