Callum Hazzard has been announced as North Wales Crusaders skipper for the upcoming 2023 season. The ex St Helens man is going into his third full season with Crusaders having signed in November 2020, but also spent 2019 on loan in North Wales. Hazzard wants to build on the previous two seasons play-off appearances and hopefully go one better this year.
Upon being announced as 2023 captain, Hazzard said: “It's an honour to be given this role at the club by the coaching staff and it's something myself and my family can be very proud of. I'm really excited to be leading this group of lads for the season”
Head Coach Carl Forster had no doubts as to who he wanted to captain the side and commented: “Callum has been brilliant since day one of preseason. He's led by example and talks to the group really well. He's well respected within the group and it was an easy decision to give him the captaincy.”
