North Wales Crusaders forward Jack Houghton has become the latest Cru star to reach a milestone at the club as he made his 100th appearance in Sunday's game at Oldham.

The ex-Widnes academy man has become a firm fans favourite at the club and has amassed an impressive 21 tries since making his debut in 2019 with 4 of those having come so far this season. After taking a break from the game, Jack returned in 2021 and played his part in successive third place finishes in League One.

Talking about his time at Crusaders, Jack said: "I’m really proud of this achievement. When I came back to Cru, this was always a challenge in my head that I wanted to accomplish.

I’m having my best season in years and really enjoying the backing from the fans as I felt like I owed it to them for all the support they have given me over my time here. Here's to many more appearances!"

Head Coach Carl Forster is delighted to have Jack at the club and has seen him evolve since the start of the season. Forster commented: "Jacks been unbelievable for me this season. He started just outside the regular 17 at the start of the season but proved to me why he should be in the team and he’s never looked back.

He’s become a real important part of the team both on and off the field. Hopefully he’s got another 100 appearances for us in him."
